scil Vet PC-ECG Plus - Application
Recording
The scil Vet PC-ECG Plus records 6 leads (3x Goldberger, 3x Einthoven) as well as a chest wall lead. Both a network and a muscle filter can be switched on and off to suppress artifacts. All of the important parameters such as sensitivity, feed rate and the filters can also be changed after startup so that the veterinarian can concentrate entirely on the positioning of the animal during recording.
Evaluation
The scil Vet PC-ECG Plus automatically measures cardiac frequency, segments and amplitudes as well as the electrical cardiac axis using a digital measurement software program. Averaged cardiac action parameters are used for this purpose. But it is also possible to just measure a single complex. All of the measuring points defined by the software can be manually pinpointed. Reference ranges are stored in the software for amplitudes, segments and cardiac frequencies of dogs, cats and horses.
Archiving
Orderly archiving of the recorded data is readily realized using the software. Once recorded, ECGs can be pulled up from the archive whenever they are needed. The printouts are made on standard plain paper showing both the ECG leads and the measurement results in a clear and useful format. All of the data can also be sent by e-mail by simply pushing a button. The recipient receives the data in high-quality form without data losses such as those experienced with telefax transmissions.
